Oh My Aching...

Many times when we have aches and pains, we don't not what the source is. I've spent time trying to understand the root of the problem, until I just looked in the mirror. Over-weight and over-stressed!!!!!

Being a person who is severely overweight, I can say this and not feel guilty. FAT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND...IT IS THE ENEMY!!!!!! For every 10 pounds overweight that a person may be, there is an issue. Feet, knees, hips, stomach, back, breathing, shoulders, neck, head...it's all connected. Being a massage therapist I understand that, but I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the weight when you're always in pain. My friend's response was simple: no pain no gain. You didn't gain it overnight, so now you have a battle to fight. People we must get to moving. Stop driving three blocks to the store...get out and enjoy the sunshine.

For the stress portion of this it's a little easier. BREATHE!!!! We have to get our minds in a quiet place from time to time in order for our bodies to be well. Guided meditaion, yoga, tai chi, and yes sleep are important for our bodies to be able to function. Know what to handle, what to delegate, and when to ask for help.
